Our Approach
At Casey’s Special Education Services, educational consulting is at the heart of what we do. Our team has visited 60+ schools across the DMV and beyond, meeting directly with school leaders, admissions teams, and program directors to understand not just what schools say they offer—but how they actually serve students day to day.

Our experience spans public, charter, private, therapeutic, and alternative settings, as well as boarding schools, post-graduate and gap year programs, hybrid models, 1:1 learning environments, and homeschooling/co-op options. From highly specialized programs to traditional and religious schools, we help families navigate all educational pathways.

What sets our work apart is that we are actual special education teachers with recent classroom experience. We understand how placements play out in real classrooms—academically, socially, and emotionally. This allows us to thoughtfully assess what a neurodivergent student needs, what they are likely to benefit from, and what factors to consider before a placement is made.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we holistically support families identify environments where students can feel safe, supported, and able to grow.
1
Get to Know Your Student
We begin with a parent consultation and collaborate with current providers to develop a deep understanding of the student’s learning profile, strengths, challenges, and support needs. This includes reviewing records, evaluations, and current programming to clarify what type of environment will truly support the child.
2
School & Program Research
Drawing from our firsthand experience with schools and programs, we identify options that align with the student’s needs and the family’s priorities. This may include public, charter, private, therapeutic, alternative, religious, hybrid, or home-based models.
3
Admissions Guidance & Advocacy
We support families through outreach, school communication, tours, shadow days, applications, and admissions decision-making. We help frame a student’s needs accurately and thoughtfully, advocating for fit and long-term success.
4
Placement Analysis & Decision Support
We help families weigh options by looking beyond surface-level offerings—examining classroom structure, staff expertise, peer dynamics, flexibility, and available supports to assess true fit.

Our special education consultants help families create clear roadmaps for their child’s educational journey—so you don’t have to do it alone.
